This is the happiest day of 2008! Check the GE results, MalaysiaKini and HarianMetro. Why don’t SPR have this feed?
In the evening, I went to a friend’s wedding. The couple were MFEO, (I never wished to use that word!). They were the most beautiful couple I’ve seen! We (about 20 of us) took pictures, pull each others leg and talked about the General Election.
What most of us want is to deny 2/3 of Government. We expected Nurul Izzah, Nik Nazmi, Lo’ Lo’, Jeff Ooi to win and Semi Value, Koh Tsu Koon, OKT, Tengku Adnan, KJ to lose. At least 80% of our hopes came true!
Here’s a little snippet of the 12th General Election gathered from MalaysiaKini
Days before election Pak Lah was so confident that he’ll win 2/3 Majority!
Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said that he accepted defeat in five states – Perak, Selangor, Penang, Kedah and Kelantan – a sizable number of parliament seats. He said that was how democracy works 😡
Pak Lah failed to win 2/3 Majority! Thank you Malaysia!
PM: ‘We’ve lost, we’ve lost’ – 4.12am. These were the only words which Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi could muster when quizzed on the ruling coalition’s shocking defeat in five states ❗
Sharizat trying to cheat?
A technical issue has been blamed for the delay in the delivery of official results from 14 ballot boxes. However, the result will remain the same – a win for Nurul Izzah – with no question of a further count.
Uncounted ballot boxes in Lembah Pantai – 12.12am. There are another 14 ballot boxes that have not been counted in this parliamentary seat, throwing a spanner in the victory achieved by PKR’s Nurul Izzah against incumbent Shahrizat Abdul Jalil 😈
KJ Won After Recount. Ughhh! *frust*
Recount in Rembau – 9.41pm. A recount is underway in the Rembau parliamentary seat which saw Khairy Jamaluddin taking on PKR’s Badrul Hisham Shaharin 😈
Bye-bye Uncle Sam, who also celebrated his 72nd Birthday yesterday.
After defending the seat for nine terms since 1974, MIC’s 71-year-old president S Samy Vellu made a quick exit upon learning his defeat. According to nstonline, on his way out, Samy Vellu could only muster a “goodbye” to reporters and supporters present at the convention hall 🙄
Nik Nazmi Won N32 Seri Setia. Congratulations and lets get this ball rolling!
Kami ingin mengucapkan ribuan terima kasih atas sokongan semua. Sekarang, masa untuk bekerja untuk mengotakan kata-kata! 😮
People of Malaysia, thank you for your vote. Please remain calm and do not jeer at the losing party. Always remember we are born gentleman, so stick to that. As the old saying goes, BMW = Best Man Wins 😎
ps: General Election feels like opening a christmas present! :XO:
pss: Will blog about the wedding later 😉
psss: Pak Lah, udah-udah la tu ❓
pssss: SPR, 300 million a year and no direct RSS feed to public? What a shame. I had to endure the mindless debate on TV to know the results. bodoh 😛
