The place I work at are filled with old-timer. Needless to say, they have been in this industry for ages. I shared a conversation with a guy from the another department about my experience in web development.
“How old are you Ed?” he asked.
“Why don’t you pick two digits and I’ll tell you if it’s right”, I replied.
“33 years old”, waaaa.. Do I really look that old? Anyway, I decided to probe this further. “What makes you say that?” I asked genuinely.
“Partly because how you dress, how you carry a conversation, how you think and your position in the company”. He sat right next to me, slowly inhaling carbon from his cigarette.
“Sorry to disappoint you, I’m actually 26 going 27.”
He turned and distant himself. Took a closer look from top to bottom. “You’ve got to be shitting me.”
Many think I’m in my 30’s. But it’s good. Helps me to convince people in negotiating a deal or do a presentation without interruption. Oh well, age is just a number.
ps: Tomorrow is big meeting for Laman7. Let’s hope I win this project 😉

takpelah .. nak wat camner …

maybe because you always dressed in shirts and slacks makes you appear ‘older’. no harm to that i guess.
well, most of my lecturer finds it hard to believe that i am turning 25 this year. they claim that i look no older than 20, which i think is a compliment. this happens probably due to how i dress to class i guess…
Maybe sebab aku pakai tshirt cabok, shorts je bile jumpe ko.
Nope, outside office, I wear worned down tshirt, loose shorts/jeans. I look mostly like someone who doesn’t have money. 😛
Ade. Aku nak Joomla expert se-ekor 😛
Cute? Muahaha.. Jauh sekali kot.
An Iranian next to me in a bus ride to Ipoh 5 years ago asked me the same question, to build a conversation for the boring journey. I let him guessed. He said “Early thirties, say 32?”.
I laughed and told him the right answer.
“You can’t be serious!”
And I showed him my ID, and we laughed.
Muka tua lebih cepat dari masa. Siot.
Yeke? You look rich to me. Hahaha… Probably because I know what’s your daddy’s car hahaha…
My dad is my dad’s 😛
it s good because he sees you through your inside, the way you think and the way you converse…
bukan semua orang dapat pandangan macam tu. 🙂
*kelakar*
when i first read ur blog, I’m guessing that you’re around 24-25. tapi with you being serious as of late, i’m guessing that you’re dalam hujung 20-an. 29. or maybe 30. tak sangka eddie baru 26 going 27. whoa!
Ko mmg muke bapak orang. Tp trust me, once ko hit 40s, ko akan still nampak 30s 😉 Unless Im JR. is giving you problems
I think exterior jugak kot. I do look old if I dont shave
24-25? Woot! A little immature sounds good sometimes 🙂
first time i’ve meet you.. bammm… i knew that you’re younger than me. but enough to say that your tallent are more. that’s why i agreed with ages is just a number. what’s the different? – talent + skill + knowledge to earn the aging RESPECT
I nampak macam 25. so sad. 🙁
Well, you do look like mak orang. Hahaha. No la, you look like 19 to me. Maybe the way you walk.
The term respect tu sgt general. Anyway bro, thanks, tade laa aku rase hopeless sgt. Hahaha
That’s relieving enough. I guess.
eh u put this entry under serious matter? :))
Hahaha. Abaikan.
Tu sebab teman suka IC lama berbanding IC baru…. takder privacy sebab budaya di Malaysia masih lagi memandang@judged on seniority berbanding hasil keupayaan seseorang.
hahahaha . aku? boleh plak mr.kay igt aku lagi tua . cait. padehal.. =)
