Ouch & Spinal Muscular Atrophy Petition

image9.jpgimage11.jpgimage12.jpgimage14.jpgimage15.jpgimage5.jpgimage6.jpgimage7.jpg

Sometimes I wonder, why do these people go to great length to prove their loyalty to God? If God loves you, He wouldn’t want you to hurt yourself. If He hates you, you might already be dead.

Maybe it’s their way to repent of their sins.
Maybe it’s their way of saying thank you?
I don’t know. This is something out of my league.

But I’m grateful, I am only required to fast for 14 hours. (I’ve done 48 hours without food in a survival camp)

On other note, please sign this petition, Cure to Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Watch the video and you’ll understand.

thanks Mike. This is a petition in US but we can always import the cure to this genetic disease.

ps: I like the ‘drill’ guy

pss: Yes, I like kids.

in case you are blind to see, that’s in Thailand. I know thaipusam where the woke up in the morning, break coconut, fast and lift the kavadi. I know my stuff. In Malaysia, I have yet to see an act with drill on their tongue.

THAT, already shows that you don’t know after all…Hindus (especially in Msia) may not act as extreme as those in Thailand, but the reasons are more or less the same. Too much to explain here. Yet, God LOVES us, that is why you don’t feel pain while performing those ritual. Therefore, God doesn’t hurt us.

Same here – I don’t get it why people have to torture themselves in such a way to show their love for their deities. I am wondering – deities are out there to make lives of good people better, and why are they allowing people to do this to pay them respect? This is the part of Thaipusam that I never get to understand. Although they say it doesn’t hurt much when you are devoted to the Gods, it still hurts to see kids voluntarily piercing themselves with pins and needles.

I, a human being myself, wouldn’t want to see people hurting themselves. I couldn’t imagine why the divine beings can bear such a sight of their devotees. No offence to Hinduism, but I don’t get it.
