MCOBA Futsal ‘08, It Was Fun, Until We Lost
“Losing is part of winning” - NH.
Last weekend, we had our annual MCOBA futsal tournament. My team isn’t actually the best (of 3 teams from my batch), but we’re adequate.
Last year we emerged as the Plate category champion, so this year, we aimed higher, The CUP. Unfortunately we hit the shower much sooner than we expected. We lost to our own batch in the Quarter Finals.
There’s no one to blame for our lost, if there was, I’d blame my futsal shoes. I hate to say, but I am really fast. (*yeah bragging*). When you’re really fast, you need higher braking power. My shoes lack that.
So when they say, “A good carpenter never blames his tools”, I’d have to disagree. If the carpenter was given a spanar, he couldn’t carve anything. Oh well, that’s just my wicked mind speaking.
ps : Heartiest congratulations to the winning team. I’ll be back to hunt the Plate!
pss : After all these years, my juniors still recognized me. It pays to be a good senior (but they remembered me as, “Eddie, the one who plays yoyo”) at least they remembered

Well, I did use the word ‘if’.
Spanar is part of a carpenter’s tool. It’s used to tighten bolt & nut.
