Happy One Year Old Sara, Here’s Your Birthday Gift

It was exactly last year at this time, I was playing badminton with my officemate. Got home and argued a little with your mother. She was moody, I was tired, and the rest was history (you can read the story here). We slept for 3 hours and was awoken by mom, her water has broken.

Anyway, you turned one year today. Most parents would throw fancy party, birthday cake, a get together. Personally I’m not big on grand gestures. But of course for every birthday, theres’ a gift. I’m giving you something priceless, no money can’t buy. I am building you at time machine.

Well, to be accurate, it’s an email capsule.

What I’ll do is send you mails, conversing with the 18 year old version of you. Tell you my griefs, my hardship, how much I borrowed your money, how you drooled on me, or scratch my face or what ever. The point is, I want you to be prepared, that one day, she’ll be an adult and parent too. This life is meaningless if love is not spread.

To do this right, I am using IFTTT. Every time we post on instagram using the hashtag #saraedwin, it will be downloaded and automatically send to your email. Cool huh? But I’ll also mail you from time to time. Just a quick short ones. (So does this post!)

Till then, good night and happy birthday my little angle. Abah loves you.
