Usually the first round is the hardest. Adrenalines were rushing up and down.

After a few rounds, we decided to play against the Marshal. It was 8 against 3, but they were pretty heavy weight themselves, an ex-commando (green beret), National Junior Paintball Champion and one experienced league 1 paintballer.

and you call this you frigging SIGNATURE DISH? So you are telling me that YOUR chef, who probably has certification or got some professional training can only design a signature dish by deep frying? You gotta be kidding me. My 3 year old niece can deep fry this for you. How is this even special? The salt? The flour? The decoration?

These people are ass. Cheap stuff, throw some fancy deco and call it SIGNATURE. Come on la, don’t make yourself look like moron la. Go watch AFC channel and steal some recipe from there.

Without the online coupon, this deal will cost you RM 120 along with other dishes. With the coupon, it values dropped to RM 60.

Good deal? I say it’s bad. First you have to drive there. That’s gonna cost you a fraction of the amount. Second, it would be better to buy the ingredients and fry it yourself. You’ll have shit loads of fries, mussels, tiger prawns, fish, chicken etc. You’ll have enough leftover until the day after tomorrow’s dinner.

These companies should take responsibility in drawing up the line between dirt cheap and reasonable value. Dirty tricks like blowing up the initial price just to have eye popping discount should be avoided at all cost, although it appears like it’s becoming like a trend.

Come on la, we’re not morons, we have brains. Respect our intelligence and we’ll respect you & your business.

I don’t normally respond to these comments very well when they first told me. I’d just brush them off my shoulder denying such things would be true. I bet they’re lining up now to tell me, “I told you so!”

Before wedding, my weight was about 70-71kg, now hovering 74-75kg. How is that in size? Imagine a brick of butter, that’s only 250 g. So if I gained 4 kilos, that’d be like 8 bricks of fatty butter dangling on my body like packs of C4s. And that’s within a month.

There are many factors I believe contributing to these excessive fat.

1. Change of routine. I normally sleep for 6 hours, now 8. I no longer take the stairs (home) as frequent as I used to. Maybe because I’m shy, and I certainly do not want to go downstairs wearing shorts.

2. Change of diet. I don’t take breakfast, now I do. I have lunch at office like usual. I do dinner at 8-9pm, now 6-7pm. I snack a lot when in shopping malls. I still eat junk food like I normally do.

3. Exercise. I normally chase after my niece and nephews, now nothing to chase. I hit the golf driving range as often as I could, now only twice after I got married. I jogged once a week at least, now once a month.

4. Meals. This is the most sinful of all, home cook meals. The goal in my house is to finish everything, and normally it isn’t that much. But Ummi’s case, she cooks a lot and she enjoys it. So I tend to eat up as much as possible. Also because it’s delicious!

I’ve asked around for opinions, some say it’s because of sex. But I don’t think it’s true. I mean you’re burning calories, how can you gain weight at the same time? I don’t know. These are all theories, they’re not an accurate assumption.

How true? Mat Salleh clearly have a different observation about weight gain. Also, husband gets the wife everything, for Malay, wife does everything even washing your feet (definitely not mine)!

I’m now watching my calories, trying hard not to exceed daily necessities. My father in law also got me a walk-o-meter to count my daily steps. Oh well, I have no one to blame other than myself. Now, let’s lose weight before my turn to change the entire garment.

Arin was my classmate in Form 1, 4 and 5 at MCKK. He is always seen as the guy who works behind the scene, appreciated but never got much credit. That makes him a humble person if not a great guy. Seriously, if you want things moving, work with him. Less talk, more work.

The wedding was held at Dewan Ibu Kota near Danau Kota, very close to the driving range I quite frequent. Fully air-conditioned, so no smokers nearby. Which is good, because I have this massive head ache and sore throat. I began hating smoking. It makes me feel like vomiting.

One of the units I’m attached to had an open table dinner at La Bodega, Empire, supposedly to celebrate achievement of the quarter. The place is quite an alien to me. I’ve never been to a Mexican diner before, let alone a fusion one. The reason is simple, I don’t know what to order.

Since most of us didn’t know what to order and it’s all being paid for, we just pointed at everything on the menu. It’s going to be buffet ala carte, sharing between peers that is. It was all cool to shuffle plates and take up some portion just to acquire the taste. I ordered, Linguine Alfredo, a no brainer dish. What could possibly go wrong when you ordered something you are well accustomed to?

In the end, the boy sent my dish to the other end of the table. But since, we’re planning on just-dig-it strategy, it didn’t really matter. Until the last dish arrived at my side of the table which was ordered by someone who sits besides me.

It has some fancy name which I don’t even know how to pronounce. Spaghetti Angle Hair, squid and chicken cooked with bla bla bla..? Before he decided to order, I did try to hint him that I don’t think I’m going to like the dish. He ordered anyway. When it arrived, it looked nothing much than a standard friend noodle with a hefty price tag.

Think about it, fine spaghetti + chicken + squid = modern mee hoon goreng.

It looked orangey and weird. The taste was stale. It was probably the most tasteless carbo loaded food that I’ve ever swallowed, second to British potatoes. I turned to the guy who ordered and said, “dude, this is awful”.

You know what he did next? He flinched. All of a sudden there’s a great wall of  China between me and him. He was super defensive. “The taste is OK lah”. He went on and on about the taste and his choice of dish. He even said, “since your order didn’t arrive, let’s consider we made this decision together”. Seriously WTF?

First, why are you being super defensive? I’m not paying for it, the company is!

Second, if it does not taste good, just admit it. No one is forcing you to finish it.

Third, who is blaming you for your bad choice?

Forth, why the fuck do you have to drag me down with you?

Fifth, again, why are you being defensive?

I know this appears to you as immaturish to squabble over a petty matter, but I have valid points here. No one at the table was booing him. We just agreed that, we’ll never order such thing again. If that’s too much to accept, then seriously why did you order something you’re unfamiliar with in the first place? Shesshhh..

In the end, he asked the waiter to pack it for his housemate. Implying that they’ll appreciate more than we do. Well, excuse me for being an ass, but I don’t like what I don’t like. You can’t force me to like what I don’t like.

I guess he was just feeling guilty, making everyone taste something horrible or spending the company’s money unwisely. And certainly, no one wants to be reminded as the guy who order ‘makanan tak sedap‘ .

Dude, what is done is done. Just say sorry and move on, Ok?

We had dinner at Shogun Sunway Pyramid. It’s a Japanese buffet and cost roughly RM 52 per head on weekdays, weekends, RM 66 (I think). We initially wanted to go Mexican, since I had a huge appetite that day, buffet was the way to go.

Before we started digging in, we pulled out a number of dish we’re going to have. You know, cost efficiency issues and yada yada. So Five (5) was the number.

Plate 1: Start light. Chawan Mushi, fried prawns, unagi sushi, raw salmon and oysters.

Plate 2: Slight heavy. Tenpanyaki beef with veggies. Average taste, too much water.

Plate 3: Heaviest meal. Lamb Shank was seriously soft, slightly salty but bearable.

Plate 4: Kill craving. Raw salmon, chicken kebab and shark fin soup.

Plate 5: Salmon head. It’s among the best part about salmon, filled with fat. (Fish fat are good, because fish swims even when it’s sleeping)

Plate 6: Tiramisu cakes with a scoop of ice cream and honey dew to wrap things up.

Six (6) plates altogether and I did not add Aisyah’s plate. The total bill was RM 103, way below normal sushi restaurants which would’ve costs us RM 120 ++. I have to admit, the taste is slightly off and it’s not something you’ll crave for. It’s also not a monthly event, else be ready to put up a few kilos and thinner pocket. But if you’re celebrating, why not?

When this was all done, we were still strapped to our seats, having a time to move! We were so full that we had to roll to exit Shogun. Serious! Of course that didn’t mean we can’t have a little fun afterwards.

The game was to make ‘smelly’ or ‘shocking’ faces when someone passed our back.

ps: Yes, we’re a spastic couple but at least we’re honest and fun. And don’t have to pretend like we’re somebody else. Pray for our happiness ok?

The destination is Jasin, Melaka. It’s about 1 hour 30 mins from KL (depending on how you drive), 1 hour 15 minutes on highway and 15 minutes on normal road.

Since this is a blogger-twitter event, we planned a convoy and early birds had to wait. No biggie, as we had our pre-lunch to fill our tummy. We reached the Ayer Keroh stop at 12 10 pm. Later, we were joined by others at around 1 pm. Of course we didn’t mention we were at A&W. If we did, we might have to wait a little longer. Hahaha

We arrived at about 1.45 pm, plus wrong turns and what nots.

Despite the hot weather and long journey, we did have fun. It’s just a little sad that we had to take off early to feed the SUPER CUTE infant rabbits. I wonder how other bloggers were enjoying Malacca?

So today I did and it was possibly the hardest thing I’ve tried!

The event was organized at Extreme Park Section 13 Shah Alam. If you’re coming here via GPS, find Burger King, it’s much easier to find.

It was organized by sickchild72, she used to work here. The turnout was a lot, but only 9 took the challenge to climb the walls. By walls, I mean a few of them.

Zelo55 was about my body size, proposition that is. We both kinda failed the same thing. I don’t take failure as a challenge, it’s part of our limitations. Most importantly, overcoming vertigo, which I doubt most would do.

The girl who stalks me. She succeeded in climbing all the walls, except for one.

The second hardest wall to climb, she managed. I didn’t but I’m so proud of her. It comes with the age, I don’t have the tenacity to wall this one. I found myself gasping for breath, exhausted and slight vertigo. It was the finger that couldn’t keep up with my body weight.

I’m pretty sure they were checking out some girl’s ass. Hahaha

Later on we had dinner at Burger King, like 20 meters away. I had to wait for a while since my hands were trembling. I’m pretty sure I’ll wake up to an aching body tomorrow. Either signs of unfit or old? I reckon it’s the former. Oh well, I had fun

How I know Ikhwan Tekong? We were both entreprenuers, twitter, blog and net addicts. It was only a matter of time to be officially acquainted. Funny guy, loud and very naughty. Congratulations and may God bless your deeds and marriage.

All that was stuck in my head was mosquitoes, leeches and more mosquitoes. Nothing short of that. Boy I was wrong.

We took off from the office at 11pm. At 410 am, we reached Taman Negara. Before we arrived, I had the impression of, we’re going to stay at some cheap chalets with leaky roof, crappy foods and toilet that doesn’t have a proper lock. I was wrong. It was just like any luxury getaway resorts, air conditioned, bricks and mortar, full mobile reception.

The first day, we hiked. It was thrilling and exhilarating, of course, tiring as hell. Up hill slopes, slippery down hills and saw some wild huge insects. It was fun to watch co-workers in their mid 30s struggling to catch up. And I finally know how a Tongkat Ali looks like other than Ali Cafe.

Amongst our path was the Canopy walk a.k.a. hanging bridge. I have to admit, I am afraid of heights but surprisingly, I managed to content my phobia especially when the head of division started jumping like a monkey and swaying the bridge left and right. If it did break, we’d suffer hemorrhage and a few broken bones from a 35 meters fall. Thank God I survived.

In the evening, we went to visit our original landlords, the orang Asli (native people).

In my 27 years of living, I’ve never seen a life as simple as these people. They couldn’t care much about making money, what matters was their survivability and not getting too hungry in the process. It somehow reflected onto myself, while I enjoy my lamb curry, slaughtered and cooked to perfection at any mamak franchise, these people, hunt, fish, gather and start their own fire.

From their appearance, you can tell that they don’t have loads to wear nor do they smother after bath lotions. Dried dark skin and fuzzy hair do was the way to go. Most with missing tooth. At some point, I felt embarrassed being properly dressed, use of personal care and not barefooted. I guess the feeling surfaced because we were the minorities.

We also tried shooting some sumpit, which of course, most of us missed miserably. I missed by 3 inch below the target.

An Orang Asli showing us how to light a fire using woods. I won’t bother lighting one manually, I either pack foods or bring along a lighter but truth is, I was impressed with his skills.

Just as I thought the first day was over, there’s a night walk. It was pretty dark and lively. The mat sallehs were in their evening dress to explore the woods. Seriously wtf. Anyway, we did spot some wild deers, huge insects, scorpions, birds and nothing extra terrestrial.

When the clock struck midnight, everyone was already snoring their way to slumber land. Tiredness has taken it’s toll due to lack of sleep (3-4 hours) before the first day starts.

On second day, we hiked to a water fall. The water is not as clear as your average perception, it was black. Black like the thick tea that your forgot to strain after hours soaking the tea bag. We had to take a 30 minute boat ride to get there. The journey was already half the fun, what more when arriving.

Thank God, there’s nothing line up for us in the evening so we loitered at a local shop. They sold keropok lekor 10 sen per piece. We had 70! Hahaha.

The night was pretty interesting, a buffet dinner under the starlight and a camp fire (which to me was just nothing more that burning woods). The lamb was marvelous, I even got some pointers

Of course, being a weirdo, I didn’t want the fire to go to waste, so I leaped over the fire a few times. And someone managed to capture it.

The third night ended with a karaoke session, much to my disappointment, they don’t air Chelsea’s match. Boo hoo!

The last day here at Taman Negara Resort, we had a few rounds paintball. I got one huge bruise on my back. It looked as if a bird took a dump on me. Painful? Yes. But I like.

After lunch, we checked out and took a boat ride about 2 hours! I was fun at first, before I knew it, half of us was already fast asleep. I accidentally stuck my hand out of the boat and got sun burn on just that hand. I shouldn’t have declined the sun block offer from the ladies.

What have I learned from this trip? First, I never knew Taman Negara was so much fun when they’res a huge turn out. Second, two of my superiors are either insane or crazy (most managers are). Third, I’d thank the company for sponsoring the whole event.  Taman Negara sure leaves us with tonnes of memory. If you’ve got the time, go! Make sure to rope in a few of your friends too!

My break fast was rather light, which is really good. I need to lose weight to fit my baju raya. I had 3 spoons of rice and a bit of meat curry. Not because I didn’t want to wallop more, but because there wasn’t enough for everyone. Have to be considerate la time pose-pose ni.

Lalu Eddie ceritakan permasalahan yang dihadapi. Bukan ape, kadang-kadang bace kat Google Reader, terliur pon ade juga walaupun dah besar panjang.

Tok Imam tu pon menceritakanlah, sebenarnye entri pasal makanan di pasar ramadhan bukan tak bole, boleh, tapi jangan bagi orang terliur. Ape ke jadah Tok Imam ni? Oxymoron betul. Dah kalau tangkap gambar ayam percik, mestilah tampak sedap! Kalau tak nampak sedap, takde la orang buat Live Blogging! Aissh, pening Eddie dibuatnya.

4 is close to being correct, but actually I ate 5 pieces! Back in MCKK days, I usually buy 1 whole chicken for myself alone during weekend outings. Stuffed everything just before rugby training (in the evening). I could feel the chicken bouncing up and down as I conquer the field. Funny, I don’t feel like puking (maybe because I enjoy running in the great blue sky of Kuala Kangsar).
