Don’t Sit Up Straight

Ever wonder why bosses pickup the habit of leaning back on his cozy-leather chair? Because they work extra long hours and it feels good.

This article isn’t actually new. I got this way back in 2006, so I thought I might share it with you.

Sitting up straight is not the best position for office workers, a study has suggested.

Scottish and Canadian researchers used a new form of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to show it places an unnecessary strain on your back.

They told the Radiological Society of North America that the best position in which to sit at your desk is leaning slightly back, at about 135 degrees.  [Source]

Kakiis.com - Bad Advertisement

Like my usual routine. Log in to Negaraku.net! and moderate it’s content. Saving parents from answering the what-is-minyak-lintah from their toddlers. Yes, Negaraku! is U rated, thanks to yours truly.

Until I came across Kakiis.com advertisement.

I don’t know about you, but I see something terribly wrong with the banner. Allow me to demonstrate.

“You’ll fit in easily” That sounds pretty much like a condom advertisement. Notice the Two human like “connected” or rather “entangled”? It spells intimacy more than Tetris block. The rest of the text seconds the idea.

Serious Security Flaw Found in IE

Users of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer are being urged by experts to switch to a rival until a serious security flaw has been fixed. Source BBC.

IE cake in the browser market roughly equates to 75%. Now there’s an obvious reason why you have to switch browser.

For once, we can have better looking web on Opera, Firefox, Safari and Chrome. That’s a smile on every web developer’s face.

ps: Even if they fixed it, will you use it? I certainly won’t.

What Do You Do For Living?

Often when meeting new crowds of friends, we’re prone to ask, “what do you do?”. The obvious answer for me is a Web Developer, and I personally feel it’s down right cool.

But there’s always a follow up statement that bugs me, “so you’re a freelancer”.

Trying my best not to bore people with what I do and how much fun I’m having, I nodded.

Somehow I get the feeling people look down on my job description. Partly because it sounds cheap, or maybe they’ve always thought that website is like blogger.com or wordpress.com, it’s free.

Is it so hard for them to see, that web developer has so many considerations before making it live? For instance, web usability and interface. It is always our best interest to provide the easiest solution, so layman can use them. (more…)

In this tag, I’m supposed to write 15 weird things/ habits/ little known facts about myself. It’s kind of like boasting on permitted channel. Here goes.

1. Lotion. I’m addicted to lotions. Especially after shower.
2. Pain. I was addicted to pain. The cut inside was so deep, a physical injury was needed to reflect the pain. Of course I’m not stupid enough to cut myself. And it made me immortal on the rugby field.
3. Hum. I hum myself to sleep. It may sound sad, but it does help truncating my train of thoughts.
